Timberfall

What it does

Chopping a spruce down means twenty swings and then chasing the branches you missed. Cut any log of an oak, birch, spruce, jungle, acacia or dark oak with the felling axe and the rest of the trunk comes down with it, up to ninety-six logs, and the leaves above it come down too. It only follows the tree you cut: it never chains downward, never reaches more than six blocks sideways, and leaves a trunk with no leaves on it alone, so the log wall of your house stays a wall. Each log costs the axe a point of durability, and holding sneak cuts one log at a time.

How to use it

• ▸Only the felling axe does it; your other axes cut one log at a time as usual.
• ▸A trunk with no leaves near it is not treated as a tree, so log builds are safe.
• ▸The tree comes down over a couple of seconds rather than all at once, on purpose.
• ▸Cut one log and the trunk comes down with it, canopy and all, up to 96 logs. A trunk with no leaves on it is left alone.

How to install

1. Open the downloaded file with Minecraft. It imports both packs on its own.
2. Edit your world and turn the add-on on under Behavior Packs.
3. Its resource pack turns on with it. There is no second pack to find.

Minecraft turns off achievements in any world with a behavior pack on, and warns you when you add one. That is the game’s rule for every add-on, not something this one does.
