How to install

Install a pack on Windows

These packs are for Minecraft for Windows, the Bedrock edition from the Microsoft Store. Java Edition uses different files and cannot open them.

We have not checked these steps on this device ourselves yet. They are how Minecraft Bedrock documents pack import; each pack’s page says which device it was checked on.

Import the pack

  1. Download the pack. It lands in your Downloads folder.
  2. Double-click the file ending in .mcpack or .mcaddon. Minecraft opens and imports it.
  3. If Windows asks which app to use, choose Minecraft.
  4. Wait for Minecraft to say the import worked.

After the import

  1. Texture packs: edit your world, open Resource Packs and turn the pack on. To use it everywhere, go to Settings, then Global Resources.
  2. Add-ons: edit your world and turn the pack on under Behavior Packs. Its resource pack comes with it. Minecraft turns off achievements in worlds with a behavior pack.
  3. Skins: open the Dressing Room, choose Classic Skins, find the pack and pick a skin to wear.

Good to know

If you play Java Edition, none of these packs will work; they are Bedrock packs.

We have not yet checked a pack on Windows ourselves. Each pack’s page says which device it was checked on.
