What it does

Craft basil, tomato and rice starters from wheat seeds and plant them on farmland. Each plant grows through 3 stages while you're nearby, and bone meal moves it up 1 stage. Use a grown plant to pick 2 ingredients and 1 extra starter; the plant stays and grows again. Breaking a plant only gives back its starter, and a harvest needs free inventory space.

Build a Garden Cooker, hold an ingredient and use the cooker: it takes 4 of that ingredient, 1 wheat and 1 coal or charcoal from your inventory and cooks 4 meals. It holds up to 4 batches, finishes one every 12 seconds, even while your world is closed, and keeps finished meals until you have room for them. Breaking it drops finished meals and gives back everything from unfinished batches. You can also make single meals at a crafting table, at a higher cost.

  • 3 crops with 3 growth stages that regrow after every harvest
  • 2 ingredients and 1 extra starter from each harvest
  • Garden Cooker holds 4 batches of 4 meals, 12 seconds each
  • 3 meals that restore 7 or 8 hunger points and stack to 16
  • Finished meals wait in the cooker, even after you close the world

How to install Kitchen Garden

  1. Import the .mcaddon, then turn on both packs in your world's settings (Behavior Packs and Resource Packs). No experiments are needed. Needs Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.45 or later.
  2. At a crafting table, combine wheat seeds with a vine for a Basil Starter, with a beetroot for a Tomato Starter, or with sugar cane for a Rice Starter. Plant starters on farmland; each growth stage takes 20 to 40 seconds.
  3. Use a fully grown plant (right-click on Windows, tap on touch screens) to harvest it. Use a younger plant while holding bone meal to grow it 1 stage.
  4. Craft the Garden Cooker from 1 furnace, 3 bricks, 2 copper ingots and 2 iron ingots. Carry 4 of one ingredient, 1 wheat and 1 coal or charcoal, hold the ingredient and use the cooker while standing to start 4 meals. Use it holding anything else to collect the oldest finished batch.
  5. For single meals, combine 2 Basil Leaves and 1 wheat for Herb Flatbread, 2 Garden Tomatoes and 1 wheat for a Tomato Skillet, or 2 Rice Grains and 1 wheat for a Rice Parcel. A starter also crafts into 1 of its ingredient.

Which version do I have?

Minecraft Bedrock shows its version number in the bottom-right corner of the main menu. Everything on ModChest is built for Bedrock 1.26.45 and newer, on Android, iPhone, iPad and Windows. If your number is lower, update Minecraft from the store you installed it from, then import the mod.
