What it does

Craft each piece at a crafting table, then lay the checker floor, set a row of chrome counter stools along the mint diner counter, fit vinyl booth seats and corner booths around a formica table and pull up vinyl diner chairs. Hang the neon DINER sign on a wall and the mint pendant lamp under the ceiling. Every piece turns to face you when you place it and drops itself when broken.

Sit in a booth seat, a corner booth, a diner chair or on a counter stool, and crouch to stand up. Use the neon sign, the pendant lamp or the neon clock to switch it off and on; all three are lit when you place them. Use the jukebox or the tabletop jukebox to light its bubble tubes. Use the soda fountain with an empty bottle or bucket to fill it with water. The mint diner counter, the cash register, the pie display, the mint fridge and the chest freezer store 27 stacks each: use one while holding a plain stick to put away every stack in your main inventory, or with anything else to take them back. Your hotbar is never touched. Use the menu board or the sidewalk sign to change its menu between breakfast, lunch and milkshakes, the chrome pie stand to swap between 3 pies, and the condiment caddy to trade its ketchup and mustard for salt and pepper or syrup and sugar. Set a glass milkshake on the counter to finish the room.

The jukeboxes light up but play no music, the soda fountain gives water rather than soda, the cash register stores items but rings nothing up, and the clock does not tell the game time. Breaking a storage piece drops everything inside it, and pistons can't move storage pieces or seats.

How to install Retro Diner

  1. Import the .mcaddon, then turn on both packs in your world's settings (Behavior Packs and Resource Packs). No experiments are needed.
  2. Every recipe except the floor tile and the milkshake uses 1 iron nugget and 1 black dye. At a crafting table, add the materials listed for the piece.
  3. Vinyl booth seat: 2 red wool and 1 oak planks. Corner booth: 3 red wool and 1 oak planks. Diner chair: 1 red wool, 1 iron ingot and 1 stick. Chrome counter stool: 1 iron ingot and 1 red wool. Formica diner table: 1 iron ingot and 1 smooth stone slab. Mint diner counter: 1 white concrete, 1 cyan dye and 1 chest.
  4. Diner jukebox: 1 note block and 1 glowstone dust. Tabletop jukebox: 1 note block and 1 redstone dust. Neon clock: 1 clock and 1 glowstone dust. Soda fountain: 1 iron ingot, 1 cauldron and 1 sugar. Pie display: 1 glass, 1 pumpkin pie and 1 chest. Diner fridge: 1 cyan dye, 1 chest and 1 snowball. Chest freezer: 1 cyan dye, 1 chest and 2 snowballs. Neon diner sign: 1 glass pane, 1 torch and 1 red dye. Pendant lamp: 1 lantern and 1 cyan dye.
  5. Menu board: 1 oak sign and 1 white dye. Sidewalk sign: 1 oak sign and 1 iron ingot. Pie stand: 1 pumpkin pie and 1 iron ingot. Cash register: 1 chest, 1 gold nugget and 1 stone button. Condiment caddy: 1 paper and 1 glass bottle.
  6. Checker floor tile, 8 at a time: 2 white concrete, 2 black concrete and 1 iron nugget. Glass milkshake: 1 glass bottle, 1 sugar, 1 sweet berries and 1 iron nugget.
  7. Hang the neon sign by placing it against a wall, and the pendant lamp by placing it against the underside of a ceiling.
  8. Use a piece (right-click on Windows, tap on touch screens) to sit, switch the neon sign, the pendant lamp, a jukebox or the clock, change a menu, a pie or the condiments, or fill a bottle or bucket at the soda fountain. Crouch to stand up from a seat.
  9. Hold a plain stick and use the diner counter, cash register, pie display, fridge or chest freezer to store the stacks in your main inventory. Use it with an empty hand or any other item to take them back; whatever doesn't fit stays inside.
  10. Crouch when you place a block against a piece, so you don't use the piece instead.
