What it does

Craft a rune, carry an amethyst shard and use the rune to get its effect. The Night Rune gives 60 seconds of night vision, the Feather Rune 20 seconds of slow falling and the Tide Rune 45 seconds of water breathing. Each use costs 1 amethyst shard, and the rune itself is never used up.

After each use, that effect needs 5 seconds before you can use it again, even with a second copy of the rune. A rune won't work while you already have its effect, so a longer potion is never cut short and your shard is kept. The message above your hotbar tells you what happened.

  • 60 seconds of night vision, 20 of slow falling, 45 of water breathing
  • 1 amethyst shard per use; runes are never used up
  • 5-second wait before each effect can be used again
  • Never replaces an effect you already have

How to install Amethyst Charms

  1. Import the .mcaddon, then turn on both packs in your world's settings (Behavior Packs and Resource Packs). No experiments are needed. Needs Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.45 or later.
  2. At a crafting table, combine 2 amethyst shards and 1 copper ingot with a golden carrot for a Night Rune, a feather for a Feather Rune, or a pufferfish for a Tide Rune. Any arrangement works.
  3. Carry at least 1 amethyst shard, hold a rune and use it (right-click on Windows, tap Invoke rune on touch screens).
  4. Watch the message above your hotbar: it shows how long the effect lasts, or why the rune didn't work and that your shard was kept.

Which version do I have?

Minecraft Bedrock shows its version number in the bottom-right corner of the main menu. Everything on ModChest is built for Bedrock 1.26.45 and newer, on Android, iPhone, iPad and Windows. If your number is lower, update Minecraft from the store you installed it from, then import the mod.
