What it does

Forest Monsters adds 2 hostile creatures with amber eyes. The long-limbed Bark Stalker is slow but hits hard. The low, thorny Briar Hound is quicker but easier to defeat. Both spawn on grass blocks in forest and taiga biomes where the light level is 7 or lower, on Easy, Normal or Hard. Once one sees you within 16 blocks, it chases you and attacks up close.

Light up your base to keep them from spawning nearby. They can’t break blocks or open doors, but unlike zombies they don’t burn in sunlight. Each drops a few ordinary items when defeated. If you want a fight on your own terms, craft a calling token to bring one out.

  • Bark Stalker: 28 health, hits for 5 on Normal
  • Briar Hound: 16 health, hits for 3 on Normal, and runs faster
  • Spawn on forest and taiga grass at light level 7 or lower
  • Drops: 2 sticks and 1 rotten flesh, or 2 bones and 1 vine
  • 2 craftable calling tokens that each bring out 1 creature

How to install Forest Monsters

  1. Import the .mcaddon, then turn on both packs in your world’s settings (Behavior Packs and Resource Packs). No experiments are needed. Needs Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.45 or later.
  2. With mob spawning on, explore forests and taigas at night on Easy, Normal or Hard. The creatures only spawn on grass blocks at light level 7 or lower, and they share the monster limit with other hostile mobs, so they won’t always appear.
  3. To call one yourself, craft at a crafting table in any arrangement: a Bark Stalker Calling Token from 2 rotten flesh, 2 oak logs, 1 bone and 1 amethyst shard, or a Briar Hound Calling Token from 2 rotten flesh, 2 moss blocks, 2 bones and 1 amethyst shard.
  4. Use a token on the ground (right-click on Windows, tap on touch screens) to bring out 1 creature. In Survival the token is used up. The creature goes after you as soon as it sees you, so be ready to fight.

Which version do I have?

Minecraft Bedrock shows its version number in the bottom-right corner of the main menu. Everything on ModChest is built for Bedrock 1.26.45 and newer, on Android, iPhone, iPad and Windows. If your number is lower, update Minecraft from the store you installed it from, then import the mod.
