What it does

Craft the Waypoint Compass from a regular compass, copper and redstone. Stand where you want to come back to, then crouch and use the compass to save that spot. After that, use it normally to see the compass direction, the distance in blocks and the exact coordinates above your hotbar. If you’re in a different dimension from the saved spot, it names that dimension and gives the coordinates instead.

Each compass remembers 1 spot, and its tooltip lists the coordinates, so make several for different places. The spot stays with that compass when you store it, drop it or give it to a friend. Saving again replaces the old spot. The needle on the icon doesn’t move; the directions appear as text.

How to install Waypoint Compass

  1. Import the .mcaddon, then turn on both packs in your world’s settings (Behavior Packs and Resource Packs). No experiments are needed. Needs Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.45 or later.
  2. Craft at a crafting table: a compass in the center, copper ingots above, below, left and right of it, and redstone dust in the top-right corner.
  3. Stand on the spot you want to remember, then crouch and use the compass (right-click on Windows, tap Read / mark on touch screens) to save it.
  4. Use it again without crouching to see the direction, distance and coordinates. The Y coordinate tells you the height.
  5. Crouch and use again only when you want to replace the saved spot.

Which version do I have?

Minecraft Bedrock shows its version number in the bottom-right corner of the main menu. Everything on ModChest is built for Bedrock 1.26.45 and newer, on Android, iPhone, iPad and Windows. If your number is lower, update Minecraft from the store you installed it from, then import the mod.
